I know - the dreaded F word. Right or wrong, how we currently feel IS our current reality. Therefore, it would make sense to shape our feelings to better serve our lives and improve our situations. Emotional intelligence is the missing ingredient for many men in improving relationships, building the careers we want and creating the lives we desire.
The negative thoughts, feelings and situations are a regular part of life. It’s normal to feel angry, sad, stressed, and overwhelmed when life doesn’t go according to plans. However, no-one taught us how to manage our feelings or behave in the face of hardship, and it has lead many men to disaster.
Society has made it difficult for men to ask for help and not knowing where to turn ensures we are often going it alone, with the weight of our negative emotions keeping us stuck. This can lead to anxiety or depression, or often something much worse - addiction, suicide and violence.
It is time to redefine what it means to BE. A. MAN. No longer do we need to be restrained by the norms of masculinity. No more do we need to wear masks and pretend everything is 'FINE'. Being a man means seeking help. Being mentally agile. Moving forward. We help simplify the complexities of life, build emotional resilience, and set up the path to mental wellness.
